So, you've decided to enter one of Northern Irelands newest and toughest Sportive events... what things do you need to bear in mind?
Get to the Sign on
Sign on is at the Lamh Derg GAA Complex, Hannahstown. Directions from the centre of Belfast are shown below in the Google Map:
A Helmet is essential - no helment no ride. Sorry.
Things to Bring with you
Required:
- Rain cape or jacket (just in case).
- Two large water bottles (filled!).
- Food (e.g figrolls, bars, bananas, fruitcake, sandwiches).
- Pump.
- At least two spare tubes (new, not patched).
- Tyre levers.
- Tube patch kit.
- Money (for extra food, phone calls, spare parts).
- Helmet.
Possible extras:
- Sun cream (just in case).By the looks of things it may be needed.
- Basic tools (e.g. hex keys, small spanners and screwdrivers).
- Mobile phone.
Sign on
Sign on will be at the event headquarters from 8am onwards. It will close at 10am when the event will start.
Car Parking & Facilities
There will be ample car parking at the event HQ. But please try to be considerate to others when parking.
The event HQ will have facilities for showers afterwards and a cup o'tea and a biccie too. Also, you can bask in the glow of admiration from your peers.
