So, you've decided to enter one of Northern Irelands newest and toughest Sportive events... what training do you need to be doing to get a new personal best?

100 Mile Route

  • January - Long steady base miles
  • February - Long steady base miles with a good lash.
  • March - Long steady base miles with more lashing.
  • April - Sportive distance plus 10 percent. Will make 100 miles seem easy!
  • May - Cut back mileage to around 80 percent of the route and rest. Carb load the day before.
  • May 19th - A good feed of beer to celebrate!

A reasonably fit normal rider should expect to complete this in around 6 hours. We've added a list of how long it will roughly take you to get the checkpoints.

  • Route Checkpoint 1 Time - Between 2-3 hours.
  • Route Checkpoint 2 Time - Between 4-5 hours.
  • Finish Time - Between 6-7 hours.
